For the safety of everyone, items that pose a risk or create a nuisance are prohibited. This includes flammable or combustible materials, harmful emissions, or goods that cause odors. Prohibited items include:

• Fuels, lubricants, and solvents

• Paints and varnishes

• Explosives (e.g., fireworks, ammunition)

• Weapons and used tires

• Internal combustion engines (e.g., mopeds, outboards)

• Perishable food (canned goods are permitted)

Your unit is locked and accessible only to you and those you authorize. Most units feature modern electronic locks, and you are welcome to add your own padlock for extra security. In emergencies, authorized staff may need to access your unit.

Yes, you can! Through our app, you can create a digital key and grant access to others. Alternatively, you can set access permissions directly in the rental agreement (or even arrange them through a power of attorney). Authorized persons have unrestricted access, but may be required to present a valid photo ID.

A direct transfer of the rental agreement to another person is normally not possible. The standard procedure is to create a new rental agreement with the new tenant.

Our minimum rental and notice periods are industry-leading. Our minimum rental is just 7 days, and the notice period is also just 7 days. For some business contracts and bulk rentals a 4-week minimum may apply — please enquire.

Yes, insurance is required. If you already have home insurance, it may be possible to apply it also to your self-storage unit. If not, you can get a great insurance rate directly with us — simply enquire with our team.

At Space Plus Oberhausen we have storage units in the outdoor area that can be directly accessed by car — enquire for more details. At our other locations, while you cannot directly drive your car up to your unit, facilities feature loading and unloading areas that are protected from the elements.

Yes, you can rent a van from Space Plus at an affordable rate. The first 4 hours are free, and you only pay €0.30 per kilometer (distance charge). Starting from the 5th hour, the rate is €6.90 per hour, plus the distance charge.

Yes, our facilities are equipped with freight elevators to facilitate access to storage units. Exception is Space Plus Krefeld, which is conveniently located entirely on the ground level, so there are no stairs or elevators to navigate, all units are easily accessible.

Yes, in all of our locations you will find convenient trolleys to make moving heavy and/or large items easier.

The rental periods for office spaces are flexible. You can rent offices at Space Plus on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis – perfect for both short-term and long-term use.
