Winter coats in July, summer dresses in January: half a wardrobe hangs unused all year round. At Space Plus you rent your own storage unit for clothes, from 1 m² and from 7 days.

Our storage rooms are clean, dry and shielded from light, with ventilation against condensation. That is exactly what textiles need: damp causes mildew stains, sunlight fades colours.

Wardrobe boxes with a rail are available from our packaging shop on site. Suits, coats and dresses hang inside them crease-free instead of lying folded in a box.

When is a clothes store worth it?

How do you store clothes properly?

Clothes survive long-term storage without trouble as long as they are clean, completely dry and packed so air can circulate. The essentials:

Wash everything first, even what looks clean. Skin flakes, traces of sweat and food are invisible but attract moths and turn into yellow marks over time.
Let everything dry completely. Residual moisture in fabric is the most common cause of mildew stains. Cupboard-dry is not always enough, so wait another day if in doubt.
Hang what should hang. Suits, coats, blazers and dresses belong in a wardrobe box with a rail. Knitwear should be folded, otherwise it stretches on the hanger over the months.
Use vacuum bags selectively. They save a lot of room for bedding and synthetics. Down, wool, cashmere and leather do not belong in them, because the fibres are permanently compressed and cannot breathe.
Keep moths away naturally. Lavender or cedar wood work without your clothes taking on the smell of mothballs.
Label your boxes. Sorted by season and size, you find the right one straight away at the next changeover without unpacking everything.
